37th Annual Maine Highland Games and Scottish Festival
« on: August 24, 2015, 09:24:32 AM »
The 37th Annual Maine Highland Games and Scottish Festival were held at the Topsham Fairgrounds, Topsham, ME on Saturday August 15, 2015. Dottie and I had spent the week in Maine visiting our daughter Jennifer so on Saturday we brought two of her four kids, Jacob and Ben, to the games with us. It was a real scorcher that day with temps in the 90's and no shade in the clan village area. In spite of the heat we had a good turnout and were busy in the tent most of the day. The heat really gets to Dottie so there aren't too many pics this time so I'll put them all here.

Me with grandsons Jacob and Ben.

Jacob is so proud of his new "Heritage of Scotland" kilt.

Jacob and Grandpa.

George Thompson from CT joined us in the parade of clans.

The Calling of the Clans!

Waiting to be called...

They forgot to call us and a number of other clans.

On to Quechee, VT.

Great pics Stu! Sorry they didn't call you. What's up with that?? Looks like you had a fun time anyway and you got to be with your grand kids. That's always fun :)

Oh good grief!  Not called!?!?!

Somehow, it goes along with being "missed" (dormant) for 400 years.....guess they still don't know we're back!

Did your grandsons stand you in a hole or are they that much taller than you???  Did you get them to take the tent down for you?

Great pictures - I'll steal them for the next newsletter ;)

Thanks for all you do - and you do it all so well!

M

Thanks Mary. Unfortunately, they are that much taller than me. Don't know where they get it from. They forgot us at Quechee also but Mr. Johnstone, president of the St. Andrews Society of Vermont, has promised to make it up to us next year.
