  Exerts from the Clinton County In Sesquicentennial Book publish May 1980 may be helpful.
    Cyrus Benjamin Thompson, born Sept 15, 1808, Perry County Pennsylvania. Purchased land i Clinton Co 1834. Moved wife (Sarah Fisher) and small son just south of Bunnell Cemetery. One of the first elders of Presbyterian Church in Frankfurt. They had 8 children.3rd was Peter, b Dec 31,1838.
    John Thompson, born 1791, Scotland d 28 May 1870;wife (Ellen b 1796 d 20 Jan 1877) both buried in Layton Cemetry.  John and brothers: Jonah (1795), Mahlon (1805), Samuel, and Andrew; settled in Louden Co Va. John, Jonah and Mahlon located 4 miles east of Frankfort In, in 1831. Andrew moved to St. Joseph, Missouri. John, Jonah, and Mahlon organized the first Methodist Church in the county. John and Ellen's children: Mary Franklin, Sarah Michael, Alcinda West, Nancy Williams, Emeline Tribby, Elwood (1827) m Nancy Reed, Mace, William, Presley and James (died in Civil War).
    Samuel Thompson, b Ireland, migrated to Clinton Co from Perry Co Ohio. Of his 10 children only David remained in Clinton Co. David in turn had 7 children. Stephen Allen was 2nd born. Had 2 children: Samuel Russell and Frances. Frances taught school at Frankfort High. Samuel Russell m Myrtle. They had one son Samuel L. m Blanche Bechtel of Burks Co Pa. Still farm part of land purchased in 1828. 3 children Samuel Stephen, Barbara Kelley, and Lynn Kelso.
