Title: NOT RUNNING ON EMPTY

 LAST EVENING ME AND MY WEE SON; ALEX, WENT FOR A DRIVE. IT WAS A CASE OF 'WISH YOU WERE HERE'- WE WERE IN KELSO. BY THE ROADSIDE WAS A WELL KEPT PADDOCK WITH BEAUTIFUL HORSES IN. WE STOPPED AND FED THEM APPLES/CARROTS/DRY PORRIDGE(ANYTHING WE THOUGHT THEY MIGHT ENJOY FROM MO'S SHOPPING IN THE BOOT).ALEX THOUGHT IT WONDERFUL. THEY ATE FROM HIS HAND, HE PETTED THEM.
IT TOOK TEN MINUTES FOR ME TO REGISTER THAT WE WERE ACTUALLY NEXT TO KELSO HORSE RACING TRACK AND THAT THESE WERE PROBABLY RACEHORSES OF THE HIGHEST CALIBRE DUE TO RACE IN A FEW HOURS TIME AND WE'D BEEN STUFFING THEM WITH OATMEAL AND CAKES!!
 NEEDLESS TO SAY WE MADE A HASTY RETREAT!

MacT, The question is... would you recognize them in their silks? Then the information might be worth something! Don't bet on that one... he ate like a horse! Actually, from what little I know of race horses I always thought they tended to be rather skittish and I doubt they would eat from a stranger's hand but I could just as well be wrong.

I think if those horses were going to race soon they wouldn't be out in a pasture.

GUESS I KNOW AS MUCH ABOUT HORSES AS I DO ABOUT KNITTING, BUT THEY WERE THOROUGHBRED ARABIANS WITH SERIOUS CLASS.
GUN DONNA? WE SCOTS DONT HAVE ACCESS TO GUNS IN CIVILIAN LIFE. WE DONT NEED THEM. WE'RE MUCH MORE DANGEROUS. GIVEN THE CHOICE OF FACING A LONDON GANGSTER WITH A SIG HANDGUN OR AN ANNOYED GLASWEGIAN- ID TAKE THE GANGSTER ANYDAY!
