Title: Join Clan Thompson Colorado at the Elizabeth Celtic Festival
Post by: Michael Thompson on July 07, 2011, 03:27:46 PM
Clan Thompson will host a booth and participate in the parade of clans at the Celtic Festival (http://elizabethcelticfestival.com/) in Elizabeth Colorado, July 16 and 17, 2011. Great music, booths, sporting events and more. Stop by the clan tent if you're in the area.

My son took a photo of Lowell Thompson tossing the caber at the festival.

Lowell says he doesn't like to wear his good kilt during the competition. He will often change into it afterward.

I've e-mailed him to see about results. I'll let you know.

Hey Guys , nice pic, also a nice pick on the Caber. I finished 1st overall. It was great to see the young Thompsons out there in the heat, and thats the reason for the Camo kilt . My Thompson kilt is to heavy and HOT to wear all day. I'll have it on at Highlands and Estes Park. Im trying to find a lightweight Thompson kilt. Any ideas ?

My Thompson Blue is a 4-yard casual kilt and much more comfortable to wear in the heat than my 8-yard kilt. I actually got it from a vendor at the Elizabeth Festival some years ago.

One of my sons has a Thompson Camel kilt from the Frugal Corner (http://thefrugalcorner.3dcartstores.com/13-oz-Thompson-Camel-Kilt_p_321.html) in 13 oz. Wool. A heavyweight kilt is 16 oz., so that may be an alternative. Be careful though, there's more than one Frugal Corner, and not all have such a good reputation. This one seems good though.
