Greetings all. How goes it? Name is Ian. I am a recent member of this fine group. Hope all have a great weekend.
-
Welcome Ian! Hope you become an active participant on this forum and make lots of new friends among your clan cousins. I spent some time in NC while in the Marines at Camp Lejuene and Cherry Point. Is Concord anywhere near there?
-
No, it is near Charlotte.

Welcome Ian,
Don't be shy now...tell us all about yourself

Well let's see. I am a Chef with 9-10 years coking experience. I have always felt a connection to the Scottish/Irish culture, its music and language. I used to think it was just a spiritual one until my family started to trace it roots and found there was actually a strong blood connection. Through the research we found a Thompson in my blood line a way back. I'm not sure what else to say lol.

Welcome Ian! More cousins , yayy! :) I hope you enjoy the forum and just chime in whenever you like. Again....WELCOME FROM YOUR EXTENDED FAMILY!

P.S. Have you tried making any haggis??? haha :)
-
I have done the canned haggis, though I would love to try to make some from scratch. But alas sheep/goat guts aren't readily available in my area.
-
Welcome Ian! I know about that connection feeling, it's in the blood. :D

Hi Ian,
My husband and I met you at the Loch Norman games - thank goodness you came on Saturday!! ;)
We're so glad you've become part of our clan family - maybe we should arrange a gathering somewhere and have you as our 'clan chef!' Everyone on here is able and willing to answer questions or point you to research - just ask. And.... you could give us some good recipes!
Don't forget there is a group who do a Burns Night around Hickory, NC in the winter.....

The Clan Chef thing could be cool haha. I know at the Games that I can make it to we will definitely eat well.
-
Hi Ian,
Welcome to the family. I am another Tom Thompson but I'm the good looking one. ;D.
Hope to meet you at one of the games.

:o Better late than never! ...and me the membership secretary. ???
Welcome Ian!
I'm sure we met at the Loch Norman Games last April.
Sunday was a very wet day then and I recall closing the tent up early, along with quite a few other Clans.
Welcome to the fray!
Yours aye,
Sherry
