First of all, I'd like wish everyone a " Happy New Year ".
To those new members I haven't met yet, I'd like to introduce myself.
I am Thomas B. Thompson from Indiana by way of Colorado by way of Virginia. I am the 7th generation of Thompsons traced back to North Carolina (1870's ) so far. My sons/daughters and grandchildren make up
the 8th and 9th generations. With 4 brothers and two sisters along with
their crews, we total about 70. My girlfriend and her crew total 22.
Hopefully some time in the near future, I will be able to say that all
of them are members of Clan Thompson Society.
I was reading a few old items on the old computer and I would like to
make a suggestion concerning the " ARMS " issue as I didn't see a lot of
feedback on the subject. So, here goes! As I understand it, we have at least
a 3 year waiting period before we can even make/submit a petition/appilaction. I think the funding for the cost could done in this manner and not be a finacial burden on anyone. A donation of 51.00
dollars,spead out over the 3 year waiting period ( THAT'S $ 17.00 A YEAR)
from each member and set up in some type trust fund until it's time to
use it for the process of obtaining the " ARMS ". If any one out there that
has any experience in types of trusts and could suggest some ways to
set this up, it would be very helpful. Hope to see a lot of new faces at AGM
in Glascow, KY this year.
Best Regards
Tom THompson ( the good looking one )
