Answers:
1. St. Andrews founded in 1411.
2. A Scots Mile is 1,984 yards (as opposed to 1,780 here). Thus the expression 'A Lang Scots Mile'
3. A Munro is a Scottish mountain that is 3,000 feet or higher.
4. A clachan is a small village.
5. There are two lakes - the Lake of Mentieth and Press Mennan Lake, East Lothian.
6. The Old Man of Hoy is a pillar of detached cliff that is 450 feet high. It is on the Island of Hoy.
7. The longest river is the Tay at 193 km.
8. The shortest river in Scotland is the River Morar : a mere 500 metres
9. Lewis and Harris.
10. Saint Kertigan aka Saint Mungo.
