Background BACKGROUND

HISTORY:

† On December 13, 2011 - Lord Lyon King of Arms, wrote that he would draft a Warrant authorizing the Lyon Clerk to prepare Letters Patent

† On March 9, 2012 - Mrs. Roads, Lyon Clerk and Keeper of the Records, sent us the draft copy of our Letters Patent pending payment of fees to Lyon Court.

† On March 23, 2012 - Funds were transferred to Lyon Court along with an amendment to the draft Letters Patent. Receipt acknowledged and changed approved by Mrs. Roads on 2 April 2012.

† On 19 April, 2012 - Email to Lyon Court regarding possible error in proposed blazon.  On  23 April 2012, confirmation of the error noted and appropriate changes made prior to when the heraldic artist begins work.


† On 31 July 2012, the Ensigns Armorial (as described above) were entered upon the 61st page of the 90th volume of the Public Register of All Arms and Bearings in Scotland.  David Sellar, Lyon


† We have now accomplished having Clan Thom(p)son Society or Clan Thompson International, Inc. duly recognized by Lyon Court. The next decision for our society is to move forward to a derbfine when ready.
